Hi All!

Although I don't play an instrument or sing myself, I'm a connoisseur of fine music and my tastes include an eclectic array of genre's and musical styles. Lately, I have been listening to more World music. This budding interest reflects an expansion of a growing awareness of my essential connection to the world around me, which I thoroughly enjoy exploring and embracing through nature, music, art, philosophy, mysticism and most importantly, through direct personal experience.

Music is indeed the language of the soul, and through the marvelous medium of the internet, opportunities to explore musical languages from around the world now lie right at our fingertips!

I am truly floored and astounded by how many very high-quality artists populate the SoundClick network. And I would like to say THANK YOU to those of you who have become my friends here on S/C. Through this community, I am meeting not only some great musicians, but some truly wonderful people as well! I really appreciate all of the support and encouragement that I received both publicly and privately on the State Parks issue. I firmly believe that it is not the politicians or the philosophers that will ultimately change this world for the better, but the artists and the musicians!

Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods is very pleased that the Governor responded positively to the people of California and reversed his proposal to close state parks. The people of Sonoma County should feel very proud of their efforts because we were noticed, and if the Governor didn’t know about Armstrong Redwoods and Austin Creek before this, he sure does now! Thousands of petitions, postcards, and letters from children and adults were sent to his office letting him know how important Armstrong and Austin Creek are to our community.

Who Actually Owns Our National Public Park Lands?: Many thanks to Murray Wilde for his leads on this very thought provoking and enlightening video from Alex Jones. While I may not agree with ALL of the points of view expressed in the video, I do find many of the facts presented to provide additional insight into what is really going on behind the scenes of the closure of our precious public park lands and the continued exploitation of our nation's natural resources, despite public protest.

SOS! ~ SAVE Our State Parks ~ What You Can Do To Help: On January 10th, the Governor released the proposed FY 08-09 state budget. We expected it to be difficult but it turned out to be worse than we had thought. The budget proposed to close 48 state parks - that's almost 20 percent - (See the list here), and to reduce lifeguard staffing on 16 state beaches (See the list here). CSPF will be fighting to avoid any park closures at all.

Proposals to close 48 of California’s state parks and take lifeguards away from 16 state beaches are out-of-touch with Californians. Join the Save Our State Parks Campaign and help stop these closures of our treasured state parks!

...ever heard of the Bohemian Grove? Its where all of our male politicians go to do whatever it is they do behind closed doors when no one is watching and no females are around, even amongst the grove staff. AND, the Bohemian Grove is located just a couple of miles down stream along the Russian River from Armstrong Woods State Reserve. So what do they care whether women, children, seniors and disabled folks have a redwood grove to visit or not? They still have theirs.
