Scott Clifton musically came of age with an emotionally charged lyric in his heart and a pen in his hand. His self-taught guitar skills evolved out of necessity. Not having played an instrument before, he needed a way to translate his heartfelt lyric to a musical sound that would soon touch a cadre of loyal listeners. A determined and passionate soul, Scott Clifton began his musical career as a songwriter. Unable to read music he learned to play the guitar and perform as it was his only way to lend music to his words.
Now, Scott is a prodigious songwriter, who is currently working on creating a catalogue of songs for his own ASCAP publishing company, Songs for Rose, anticipating a record deal awaiting him in his near future.
Discovered by Platinum Winning Producer/Musician Jeff Pescetto, Scott has been cultivating his singer/songwriting talents since the tender age of 15. Scotts intended debut performance at 18, was put on the back burner when Scott was catapulted into celebrity as the three time Emmy nominee and star of ABCs General Hospital.
Now at age 21, Scott is now taking a different step...back into the musical side of his career. A passionate fan of music with extremely eclectic taste, Scott is influenced (at the moment) by, the music of Rob Thomas and Matchbox 20, followed by Evanescence, Default, Nickleback, and 3 Doors Down. True to his Scottish/Irish heritage, he also loves his Celtic music.
Scott has, along with Jeff Pescetto self-produced two enormously successful EP Compact Disks. Untitled (2004) sold thousands of copies before selling out completely in 2005 when his second CD Unbeautiful came out. His newest album, the full length So Much for the Nightlife is due out in November of 2006.
In reading his eloquent lyrics (www.ScottClifton.com ) and allowing his charisma to penetrate through the song, its hard not to quickly fall in love with Cliftons approach, humbleness and purity of musical style.
Scott Clifton will entice you and will leave you wanting more.
