Been playing since I was 6 years old. Hope to be playing for that long 'again'. I raise sheep and cattle in Central Texas. When the weather is 'too much', I come into my home studio and relax doing recording. Once in awhile, I tell a story and put it in here in 'Podcasts'. The stories are true...of course, warped by my perspective!
Started with acoustic guitar and harmonica....in the last few years, I've learned to do computer recording with Audacity. And, then, I bought a synth....and started doing some electronic music. Enjoy it all. If you or your child have a 'musical interest', you might want to look at the Yamaha PSS F30 keyboard. I had hurt my hand, so looked for way to continue to record...and found the F30. It's amazing all the sounds in that little inexpensive thing! I'm sure I only have scratched the surface on it. Everything in the last year I recorded that sounds like 'keys' is the F30, including saxophone.
Don't think I will play 'live' again. The closed minds of some people in 'bands' and at churches really turned me off. 'Play it like the CD' some fool said...nah. Won't do that. If I can't do it 'original', then I'm not doing it.
Everything from 1940's big band, which my Mother loved, to, country, gospel, acid rock and Emerson, Lake and Palmer.
Audacity, Variax, Allen & Heath Zed 10, MXL 990/Shure 58, Zoom multi effects (the CDR 70 is a favorite), Korg synth, Alesis drum pad.
Enjoy some music. It's Good For You!
