In the spring of 2000 Ty, Matt, and Joe formed the band and started writing and practicing original grunge music. They recorded their first 8 song CD in October of 2001. In 2002 they had 22 performances in South Central Kansas at venues like The Port Of Wichita, The Rivers Edge, and The Rock. In 2003 the band took a break from performing. They introduced Antione on Guitar and Ty transitioned to his present role as front man for the band. 2003 was spent writing and practicing new music. 4 King Stud’s music progressed and went through an evolution during that year. They remolded their musical foundation from grunge into metal. Their efforts culminated with the recording of a new demo CD in December 2003. Armed with new music and a new style 4 King Stud is hitting the local scene hard and expanding to regional exposure.
4 King Stud’s music and performances release a torrent of passion and energy into its listeners. The band takes you on an emotional journey through facets of everyday life, its ups and downs, twists and turns. Their music is dark, angry, reflective, and focused in its message.

We were at our first gig (a band competition) and there were some A&R people from record labels watching the performance. Ty’s pants started to fall off in the middle of a song and he just kept right on playing like it was part of the act. When the song was over he talked about the incident and everyone had a good laugh. Afterwards the A&R folks said it was really funny and they like the way Ty handled the situation
We play at venues 4 to 8 times a month. It’s a real rush to get up on stage, perform, and see people having a good time socializing, dancing and moshing to our music! We put everything we have into each show and the fans can tell.
Take a healthy handful of hard rock, pour a strong dose of some metal, mix in some grunge, and add a touch of blues. Then bam, kick it up a notch! That best describes 4 King Stud’s musical influences. Spanning bands and artists from the 60’s to now. 4 King Studs’ music is a modern molding of diverse styles and genres. From the Doors to Mudvayne, Ozzy to System Of A Down, Metallica to Nine Inch Nails, each member of the band has some similar and different musical preferences.
