Submerged in Dirt is heavy, melodic, brutal and fast. The next evolution in death metal, listen and you may never go back to typical death metal.
Submerged in Dirt is a band that developed from the outskirts of Tulsa, OK. In an area known to many as the "Bible Belt" we have successfully transcended the limitations put on us by our surroundings, and have created some of the most brutal music ever conceived. Our style relies heavily on dynamics and key progressions (two things that our genre have long forgotten) while at the same time we utilize extremely powerful vocals. Our fan base is ever growing and we have set out to make a name for ourselves among the greatest metal bands ever.
Band/artist history
"Technical, turbo-charged riffs and infectious melodic structure held together by precise drumming combine with extremely aggressive vocals to create a sound that will decimate stereotypical standards placed on most bands of this genre." Submerged in Dirt is a modern death metal band from North-Eastern OK, based in the town of Okmulgee. Our main goal with this band has been to write better songs and get them to the people in any way possible, in order to satisfy the every-day heavy music fan's need for musicality and originality. With this in mind, S.I.D. has discovered that with clever marketing and simply being personable, we can attract a wide fan base outside of our local area. Recording obscurely at home for a combined total of over 8 years, we have developed techniques to produce our music with a sound that is very similar to the quality of some pro-studios. We have every intention to create a new (higher) standard in the quality of our music and our relationship with the fans. One unofficial e.p. - Twitch Of The Death Nerve - was released in August of 2005. It was & remains free to all, and in most cases hand-delivered by us. The full-length Godstorm is nearing readiness. Both works are self-produced, which is a part of our d.i.y. mentality. When Submerged In Dirt started, it was only two acquaintances who shared a love for heavy and well-writtin music. Since performing live wasn't an option in the beginning, we decided that it was more important to let people hear the music and tell us what they thought, which would not only help us form our direction, but possibly find the members needed to become a full live band. And naturally, myspace.com was the perfect place to start. Since joining in Sep. 05, we have gotten a great response and a slight cult following. The comunication with the people who love our music is invaluable, in our opinion. Myspace has even allowed us to find and recruit our final additions to the band. And with our line-up complete now, Submerged In Dirt is taking this music to the stage in a war against the watered down, simplistic hard rock that threatens to take hold of the heavy music scene. After a year and a half as a two-piece recording outfit, S.I.D. is now complete, booking shows and practicing non-stop to be able to deliver the music you want, which just so happens to be the music that we love to create. The next step for S.I.D. is to find a trustworthy and dependable company to enable us to reach as many people as possible with our highly anticipated release, Godstorm. We hope to see you at a show soon!
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We are currently tearing up the NE Oklahoma scene. Occasionally we do shows in the surrounding states and we love every minute of it!
