Weaving magical lyrics with beautiful sad and melancholic melodies and eclectic instrumentation, Harvey Summers is a unique solo artist. His new album, "La Marionette" is not only truly different to anything you have ever heard, it is also musical, organic and accessible. - "David Newman, indie review"
Band/artist history
A potted history - I've written a lot for film and TV - currently working with director Jan Jung on some TV comedies. Sold a million solo chillout albums worldwide and had the pleasure of working with some beautiful musicians and people. Eg. Kenny Craddock, Paul McCartney, Nana Tsiboe, John Pearson, Russ Conway, Geno Washington, Abi Ryan and many others.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Play live often, and of course I love it. The best thing is when people in pubs tell you you are not going home until you've played Mustang Sally. Grief.
Your musical influences
I love so much music. It's a cliche but hey, but I do love Daniel Lanois, Peter Gabriel, Jan Tiersen, Nick Cave, Nick Drake, The Staple Singers, Bob Dylan, and many more!
What equipment do you use?
Find pics etc at my own site (www.harveysummers.com) or at the site of my studio (www.swineuk.com).
