Punk Poet with tunes. The sicker vicar, the sinister minister, live and direct from the church of the holy penguin......
Rev Porl has been performing as a poet around the UK since the mid 90's. Eventually tiring of the poetry scene as it represented nothing more than "a bunch of t**ts going on", he decided to branch out, and find a wider audience for his filthy odes to monkeys and social workers. In 2002 and 2005 he collaberated with Stuart Crozier from electronic mavericks Superstring on two albums, "Reverend strings the blues" and "Hablo Diablo". He continues to perform as a poet while also fronting the 8 piece "Rev Porl and the Voice of God", and is preparing a new album with the whole band for release in 2006. With his confrontational style, his sharp taste in shades, and his rampant alcoholism, the Rev causes delight and alarm in equal measure wherever he plays. Actually, it's mostly alarm.
