Dirt & Diamonds came together in December 2005. Started by members Claude De Santis (22), Mike Iula (20) and Steve Cipolla also know as Chip (22). All three of them came from other bands that broke up or they left. Theyre a Hard Rock/Alternative band with powerful guitar and rhythm and high end whaling vocals with a very melodic and playable sound. "Its fait this band came together were all really talented musicians, we were all just playing somewhere else, and by fait this happened. All three of our old bands didnt work out and we came together" Mike Iula. In January 2006 Claude was working very closely with his baby brother Stefano, working on songs. He saw potential for his entry in the band. Stefano De Santis (20) entered the band 2 months later as the Bass player, backing vocals & Piano/Synth. His different style and ability brought a different dimension to D&D. John Battaglia (21) Joined at the same time also and everything came together. Mike & Claude have been writing songs together since the band started and Chip has been collaborating along side them. Everyone writes in the band and everyone collaborates. Because of that the band can interfuse there wide verity of influences and styles to create music that is original and new. Dirt & Diamonds influences are bands like: Audio Slave, Guns n Roses, Oasis, Faith No More, Alice in Chains & Alice Cooper "Im fuckin so glad this band came together. I left my old band because of problems, But everything happens for a reason. Im playing with guys that are much more diverse in what they play, and that has made me a better singer. I look back at that bar rock garbage I was playing with my old band thats background music. Im just fuckin excited that I could change my style and really use my voice with these guys, its crazy. I needed that kick in the ass to change" Claudio De Santis. Stefano introduced the band to John Battaglia who is now the drummer of Dirt & Diamonds. John fit right in with his high intensity drum beats. All 5 members of the band went to the same school and knew eachother a bit then. The band is heavily guitar driving with the bands two ridiculously talented guitar players Mike and Chip, playing riffs that make the music stand out on its own. Johns drumming added the missing dimension the band needed and with Claudes high end powerful vocals, Dirt & Diamonds are truly an all around powerhouse. "Johns by far the best drummer I've ever played with.........no doubt" Claudio De Santis The band has interest from a friend who has introduced them to a Label executive that is putting the boys with a producer this summer and keeping a close eye on the band as they play..............................................................
