It all started around 1971 when I was five years old - Grandma taught me how to play ukulele. My first song was "Sweet Georgia Brown". My folks listened to lots of Earl Garner, Wes Montgomery, Austrid Gilberto, Sergio Mendez, Brazil 66, Teddy Wilson, and most important, The Mills Brothers. We would got to church on Sat. eve. at St. Johns, and then bingo after where I would play.....then came the Magnus keyboard, pretending we were the Monkees, basement band with my brothers. For my 10th birthday I got my first guitar. A Red Starburst steel string acoustic out of the Sears catalouge. I still remember the day the delivery truck came to the house and smell of the brown cardboard box & packaging it came with.....
Band/artist history
After a small attempt to form another band, "Sensory Depravation", while employed on feature films in Austin, Houston and surrounding Texas areas, I decided to self produce instead. Work schedule too demanding and logical to stay employed as a set painter for big budget movies... Previous Bands: "PussNboots" (Cincinnati 1989-91 with Joetta Big Red Lips, vocals, Heather Prescott, drums, Anala Woodham bass, Kelley, guitar) Wow I can't wait to upload all those band practice tapes (joking)...the old practice studio in basement of TBCY on Vine Street. "Texas Militia Men" 1992 (Houston) Toby Blunt on accordian(THE Toby Blunt of BLUNT. MaryJanes/FatCats on Washington Ave., Joe Skinny on the drum (yes, one drum) and myself on guitar.
