Hi, thanks for taking the time to listen to my stuff. Every artist's hope is that his efforts might move a person in some way that is special. I am a singer/songwriter in Texas and enjoy a wide range of influences from Haggard, Townes, Willie and Waylon, Billy Joe Shaver, Guy Clark, ZZ Top, Petty, Grateful Dead, Dylan, Marley and more. Please drop me a line and tell me what you think... and thanks for your time.
Grew up learning on an old red starburst acoustic my Ma bought me from Sears when I was about 12. At the time I was having too much trouble learning the chords and quit trying until I was 15 and couldn't forget it or leave it alone. Then it came real easy...
yes I play a solo mostly and with a blues band some too, and love it when all the rules go out the window and the audience and I connect in some way and then we just start having fun together...I've played in California, Colorado, New Mexico, Key West, Costa Rica, and of course Texas.
I have a huge range of influences as I think many people do these days. I love the blues and play bass in a blues trio, I love outlaw country and americana stuff like Guthrie, I love bluegrass and Rush, Eagles and Allmans, and of course Led Zep. I love classical and especially violin or cello. I am stirred by American Indian tribal songs and I love Jazz like Coltraine and Hancock. Texas guys like Willie, ZZ, and guys like Townes Van Zandt, and Billie Joe Shaver, and a good songwriter anywhere.
me and my guitar...whatever I can find..but they get mad when I just beat on a table top or something...
I think one of the key elements to being a human on this planet is artistic expression. It is a human basic need that requires awareness and direction. Through it we can practice some form of truth if we are lucky. One of the last hiding places of Truth is in art. It is neccessary for life one the planet...to share that and connect is magic..
