Lyricist/Songwriter - and music aficionado.
You are seeing it, unfold.
It's primarily about writing, and enjoying the creative process.
However, more recently... I have begun re-interpreting songs made famous by popular artists. - A process that I'm now starting to find rather intriguing.
Anything and everything that I have ever heard has influenced me... in one way, or another.
Bass, guitar and keyboards... mostly. Relatively new at this... so I would like to learn more about music software programs, recording & mixing.
I have always believed that job of an artist has never been to merely reflect the status quo.
The artist is not only obligated to entertain, amuse, and educate... but, also shock, appall, stimulate, irritate, shatter old perceptions, and to push the public in new directions theyve never even imagined.
As an artist, I dont want the audience to feel comfortable and familiar with my work.
If someone experiences my art (in whatever form) and doesnt feel love, hate, admiration, disdain, anger, sadness, or repulsion... then I would view that as a monumental failure.
