A parody of Breit, as performed by Deutsch Punk group, Die Aerzte is about a college student's trials and tribulations with their student union's services.
Wow, this one's a doozy! Originally written in September, 2012, Right (Dear Union Services) would be my first parody of Die Ärzte's Breit, with the second being a fictional theme song to the same tune.
Despite the obscurity of the group and song it is parodying, Right would be shelved, after a few failed attempts of producing the song in late 2012.
By the Spring of 2015, that would soon change. My friend, Jace McLain of Nuclear Bubble Wrap aided me in producing a solid backing track for "Right," and by late March, early April of 2015, the once shelved song parody would see the light of day.
Union Services has driven me real mad
to a point where the union’s depressing and real sad
It’s a let-down and a constant fight
‘Cause you know things here aren’t alright
By now I have concluded that
The services here are not the best
What they do ain’t right!
Close the union building early unannounced!
Not right!
To say that they are there, when they’re not around!
The constant remodeling
And the lack of their consistency isn’t right!
It’s not right!
Now what they do is a tad bit embarrassing
Want to reserve a room, but they won’t do it quickly
You play along with their rotten scheme
As you ask yourself, “what’re they doing?”
As you witness your “Quiet Place” has been closed
And wrapped up in construction tape!
What they do ain’t right!
You’ve entered the building, but it’s so hot!
Why?!
Then you’re wondering, more often than not!
Abandon the Union
To say it is like a prison
Isn’t right!
Far from right!
“Dear student, we regret to inform, that your reservation…
...has been overturned to an outside organization.”
Then you get pissed,
As you see the strain
All of a sudden you begin to feel pain
Then finally you’ll say “enough with this!”
In a semester’s time, you’ll be hating it
What they do ain’t right!
The building director is way out of line
Not right!
Especially the way she runs it at night!
Sure, the building is beautiful,
But beauty’s only skin-deep!
It’s not right
Far from right!
