A swamp type country song that's really about my 33 year Army career retirement
I retired from the Army this year after 33 years of service. I've been to the middle East 5 times, 3 times for one war and twice for another. I had my paperwork in and was waiting for my orders. I was already retired in my mind. The yelling that you hear in the song comes from an old confederate army signal when they were in the woods to identify themselves. It's an old, old thing. While we don't have the ideas that they had back in those days, in the South, it IS a historic thing and part of my heritage as my great x5 grandfather fought in the French/Indian wars as well as the Revolutionary war
I don't want to march here anymore
No I don't want to march here anymore
Take these boots from me, do it and then let me be
I don't want to march here anymore
I don't want these blinders anymore
No I don't want these blinders anymore
Take them away from me, do it and we'll both be free
I don't want these blinders anymore
