‘Fire Song’
Sometimes you gotta lay down money
Sometimes you gotta lay down your soul
Use your woman's ways honey
And in the end it's all rock n' roll
I once tricked a gambler for his riches
His lady friend broke my right arm
I deal with the dirt n' the bitches
The bad men will keep me from harm
You can beat me with fists, love n' fire
I'll stand proud n' tall to the end
I beat every last hope n' liar
This world n' its demons could send
Choke on your gov'ment enforcement
Break in deceit, greed and war
Drunk is the only contentment
When I can't remember no more
Law men n' thieves join the party
It's all just the same to me now
I'll open my arms to the theatre
In the back of the old brown cow
Jolly the rogers, the ravers
All good men n' women are one
Take to the seas with the sailors
Where all our bad stories begun
