Wheatfield soul/R&B. You can't live in the shadow of Motown and NOT have some of it rub off.
Started recording the song as a country song including the main acoustic, but the vocals took an unexpected turn. Dave did his usual amazing job of taking very little direction and turning a little Cincinnati Isley Bros inspiration into something new. Tastefully hot and melodic. I did the main acoustic and auto wah rhythm on the left (Dirty) and Dave did the Rhythm on the right (clean).
Sometimes in relationships, despite the fact that you so badly want them back. You pray that that they come back. That is the last thing in the world you actually need. Love will kill you!
I know you think its kindness
Trying to come back to ease the pain
To take mind off; You not be here
For a moment to give a reprieve
No Matter how much I beg or plead
Dont come back to me
The hardest thing for me to wrap my mind around
You lost your will to love me
Despite the fact you ripped out my heart
I still love you, more than life itself
You need to let me learn to breathe again
Until I move on No we cant be friends
No I cant just forgive you for leaving.
I'm still here and I'm still bleeding
Lost in time crying myself to sleep.
Consciously rebuilding how and when I think
You want me to give you my blessing
Lord - You got to be kidding
The pain the loss the raging silence
the night too cold and lined with loneliness.
No woman is stupid enough to try to love me
they cant compete with a ghostly memory
