You learn a lot from watching your Dad. Which could be good and it could be bad. Luckily this is not autobiographical and my Dad lived to be in his 90's. Life changes and it takes effort to keep love alive. You have to put in the work.

I never took much pride in the fact My Daddy taught me how to drink All the same, I took care of myself Because he also taught me how to bleed Sometimes Im not so good; at reading the signs Subtle shifts and private sins But lately theres been a chill in the wind 2. I had to learn how to treat a woman At least better than he did my Mom He really wasnt much of a role model And I carried him when I was 21 3. Three kids, two jobs a car in for repair The factory is rusted, but they havent locked the gate Trying my best to make ends meet Without break everything inside of me 4. They say that hope keeps love alive But hard times grind away until hope dies Everyone is looking for a happy ending But apathy keeps you from putting the work in
