Story behind the song
A spontaneously recorded worship song from one of the psalms. This one is a crumb that fell from the Master's table. It's not a perfect offering - the constraints of time and equipment means the end result is less than I would have desired, but I thought it was too lovely to leave under the table! The vocal was recorded a bit too close to the microphone, ( I really need a limiter/compressor ) so there is a little distortion occasionally. I don't like re-recording a spontaneous take - it takes away the "magic of the moment" so I have left it as it is. The backing vocals ( my 16 year old daughter - oohs & ahhs - go Amy! ) and Rebecca ( 18 "rejoice") are delightful. They are true worshipers and add such a spirit of worship to my songs, I am so grateful for their willing contribution to these projects. The BVs were added later of course, as was the instrumentation. It may be a little "busy". My youngest daughter Michelle once informed me that "simplicity is the essence of perfection." She is probably right. The great German composer Brahms once commented, "I have no problem composing music at all, the problem comes when deciding which notes to leave out." Anyway, what I have written I have written. Sometimes you've got to recognise when it's time to quit a song and move on to record another. I hope you enjoy this little gem.
