This was our first song written as a band together. It is also probably our favorite songto play live. Feels like an anthem.
James wrote the first verse on a whim about how easy it was to write lyrics, and we built it off of that and quickly this song took form. At first it was sounding like a poor postal service song, but somehow ended up as some sort of anthem. Its fun to play live, especially with all the hormonies and screaming.
sorrow can hurt but joy, it can kill you
its getting late and you're tired, so...
go rest your head in someone else's lap
i don't think i'll be taking you back
listen up to me
this is my plea
you're killing me
with that smile, laugh and body
please, cease
your hair is like disease when you move
your siren voice demanding i jump in the sea
well why don't you go instead of me, my parthenope?
and spare me the ropes that tie me to this mast
look at me
and i'll look away
you're like the sun
i've looked at you for too long
please, cease
