kick ass song about making moonshine and enjoying the product!
This song is about a fictitious character named "Tucker Mcgee." There was no real meaning behind this song...it tells the thrills behind making and smuggling moonshine.
Way back in the woods you see,
there's a really old man named Tucker McGee.
Everybody know him from miles around,
he's got an old log cabin and a bluetick hound.
Back in '68 so the story goes, he had thirteen people on his payroll.
Five makin' moonshine, five drivin' fast, one to box it up and two to watch his back,
Tucker made moonshine, that's all he knew,
People drive across the country for a drink or two,
Tucker made moonshine, way back in the woods, lawman tried to catch him,
you know he never could.
Well he waited til dark, you know to make his move,
When the mix was right and it went down smooth,
Filled up the trunks of those muscle cars,
clear for the sale of them mason jars, yeah, yeah
Runnin' that shine's what Tucker does best, you know the local sheriff never got any rest,
Law didn't catch him it was clear in the end, cause Tucker made the governors favorite blend,
Tucker made moonshine, that's all he knew, people drive across the country for a drink or two,
Tucker made moonshine, way back in the woods, lawman tried to catch him, You know he never could. Tucker made moonshine, Tucker made moonshine.
