Birthday parody of Paul McCartney's 'Another Day'
My friend Ron has a thing about celebrating birthdays. He hates it. He hates the recognition, he hates being the center of attention. Mostly I think he hates to have to say Thank you.
Every January 27th we go eat
I am ready for a celebration but you still repeat
"It's just another day"
We are you so humble? Why do you refuse?
Are you in denial it's your birthday?
It's just another day.
Other people blow out candles on a pretty cake
You are too embarassed by the fuss you think that we will make
It's just another day.
Too bad, too bad, I think it's just too bad
I wait for this day all year long
So that I can record you a birthday song
Up late, I write some words
Then I sing and I play 'cause it's RZ's birthday
Too bad, I think it's just too bad.
As we make another trip up to the salad bar
You say you forgot your pill but it's okay, it's in the car
It's just another day.
So fat, so fat, sometimes we feel so fat
We won't have a birthday dessert
When we look in the mirror it's bound to hurt
No cake, nor is there pie a la mode on a plate
'Cause you're watching your weight
So fat, sometimes we feel so fat.
So we'll play our movie game and swap a DVD
You think what you want but this is still a special day to me
Not just another day
Giving you a present, buying you some lunch
Telling you no matter what you may say
Not just another day.
