Heavy instrumental months in the making. Some of these licks are impossible to play. But I played them.

It's finally alive! I have crafted this tune to the best of my perfectionist's standards, I think. I had this idea for a while, just took forever to get it all laid down. When I listen back, I hear some things that are impossible to play...but I played it.
I had the idea in the head of the song in my head for years, but always played it in 7/4, instead of the 4/4 that I recorded it in. Why the change to a more standard time sig? I guess I just liked the more driving beat I created in Hydrogen better in 4. Recorded using Cubase software, my normal amp/effect combinations, and leads played on my trusty ESP, "Buckwheat". I never used Cubase before this track, so I think it took so long for me to complete because I was just learning the software as I went along. That is very much like my approach to the guitar!
I named it "Suspended" due mainly to the first passage, with the piano. I used alot of augmented phrasing to add some dissonance, and to kind of keep things unresolved. It gives you the feeling that something is not quite "right", like the clean chords chimes, or the artif. harmonic resolutions, or the almost incomplete piano line in the first passage--all intentional. Ok, enough music class :-)
Thanks for checking out Suspended, and ROCK ON!
