STORY BEHIND THE SONG -
Mostly the song is about memories...at least ones I can't forget, especially at Christmas.
The Song opens with a the verse:
I'm kinda' tired, it's warm by the fire,
I hear the sound of the Bells, and it moves me.
Soon it will be, Christmas time.
That verse, I guess, was inspired by my father who died quite a few years ago... He spent quite a bit of money (THOUSANDS) to have the Bells at the Church in Watkins Glen (ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH) fixed, and he wanted to hear the Bells before he died...On Christmas Eve, after working on the Bells for MONTHS, they finally got the BELLS OF ST. MARY'S to ring, YES, that's right, the BELLS OF ST. MARY'S rang again after more than 40 years being broken, and just a few months before he died... So when we hear the Bells, for better or worse, it brings back memories...
The other verses kind of speak for themselves, and the chorus is really a memory that I never seem to be able to forget.
ANYWAY....Merry Christmas and this is for everyone that I miss so much.
