A song about someone yearning for a closer walk with the Lord.
I wrote this song sitting on my living room floor late one night after reading a blog by a strong Christian woman. I was touched by her transparency and her openness about her relationship with the Lord. Caught up in the busyness of my own life, I desired and yearned for that type of depth in my walk with God. This song is about my feelings at the time.

Vs. 1:
There's an aching in my heart that longs to know You more
There's a whisper in the darkness that I can't ignore
Take away the mask I wear to hide from the truth
As I sit here in the stillness, Lord, my heart cries out for You, for You
Chorus:
Draw me deeper, cleanse me from within
Wash away my pride and fill this emptiness
Lord, please take me to a place I cannot hide
Far from all that glitters in this superficial life
Draw me deeper (deeper, deeper...)
Vs. 2:
Consume me with Your love until my heart just melts
Let me look into Your eyes 'til I see nothing else
Fill me with Your Spirit and a love that's new
As I sit here in the stillness, Lord, my heart cries out for You, for You
Chorus:
Bridge:
I get so caught up in this life (all that glitters is not gold)
I need You, Lord
Help me walk by faith not sight (Let Your grace and mercy flow)
I need You, Lord (draw me deeper)
I need You, Lord (draw me deeper)
Draw me deeper, Lord
